System Of Units

System Of Units

Actually physical quantities are measure in four system of units, Which are :-

                                1) CGS System                           2) FPS System

                                3) MKS System                          4) SI System

1) CGS System (Centimeter Gram Second System)

In CGS System the units of Length is Centimeter , Units of Mass is Gram and Units od Time Second. CGS System is also called Metric System of Units or French System Of Units.

2) FPS System (Foot Pound Second System)

In FPS System the units of Length is Foot , Units of Mass is Pound and Units od Time Second. FPS System is also called British System of Units.

3) MKS System (Meter Kilogram Second System)

In MKS System the units of Length is Meter , Units of Mass is Kilogram and Units od Time Second.

3) SI System (International System of Units)

SI System of units is the modified form of MKS System. It has Seven Fundamental Units and Two Supplementary Units.

In 1960 at Geneva SI System of Units was adopted at the International Conference of weight and Measures.
